So after damaging another person’s property, instead of apologizing to that person for his mistake and offering to make it right, he instead wants to conceal the damage from them and escape before they find out. Wow, this guy is a real piece of work. We’re supposed to find this scumbag sympathetic?
Rubbing compound does not fix scratches and unless its made for clear coats it will only do more damage. and over a week on just parking a wagon with the village idiots? God I have rufus and joel
100: I guess I figured Rachel just moved in right away, but I suppose it might make more sense that she’s serve as a day-sitter as needed, at least to start?
80: This being a Saturday strip, looks like a nice end to catching up with Trixie from four or five years ago. And a rare hint at ‘the gathering storm’ we know is coming in about seven months.
75: Mr. Turps may end up suing Wilmer for a case of whiplash.
60: I imagine most cooks can appreciate a decent meal – prepared by someone else!
Joel is a wise sage. But, hopefully he is not in over his head this time. I am a touch worried.
I hope and anticipate that as long as the vehicle does not have a clear coat, that the rubbing compound will work. And, furthermore, I hope and anticipate:
1. Joel will plan and want to apologize to the vehicle owner…. mostly for Rufus’ poor guidance as it was really his fault.
2. In the end, the vehicle owner, while not “happy,” will be accepting of Joel’s effort to correct the mistake.
+ + +
With the above, then Joel can sit back a spell with his pipe and jug, and probably should re-evaluate his friendship with Rufus….. because Rufus typically causes all the problems. And, yet, even though it may be against his better judgement…. I suspect Joel will still try to keep guiding Rufus to begin to use the limited number of brain cells he has… in the future.

I’m amazed that Joel carries a can of rubbing compound around with him. Guess he scratches a lot of vehicles.

I can see it coming now. Rufus will overdue the rubbing compound until it gets down to bare metal (but the scratch will be gone though!).
