Caleb was the age of learning the difference between real and made-up when NOVA had a special about the space program. He seemed rather puzzled. “What’s wrong, Bud?”
“These space ships are so tiny?”
“Are you thinking of the other space ship we watch?” (Star Trek)
“Yes.”
“Oh, Buddy, that space ship is made up. These are real!”
He was glued to the rest of the program. They ended with like a 5 minute essay of one of those Saturn rockets blasting off. Water pouring! Ice falling! Fire rising! Cables disconnecting! Gantry pulling back! Clamps Releasing! Rocket starting to ascend! Fire everywhere! I don’t think he even breathed for the whole 5 minutes!
