Reminds me of a medical alert bracelet I bought for someone with the disease misspelled.

The -ery -ary ending gets a lot of people. I remember a Berkeley bookstore that had a sign up saying “The stationary department has moved.” Think about it.

Flunk & Wagnalls.

With my bad spelling I would need a dictionary to realize that.

And it lists “unthaw” as a legitimate synonym for “thaw.”

Management in the place I work at had signs printed and posted them all over the plant that said “Quality – Do It Right the Frist Time”. They were up for two weeks before anyone noticed. True story.

I noticed a sign in a bank that referred to WITHDRAWLS. Well, it was admittedly in Texas so maybe it was intentional.

I was a good speller in grade school. My teacher had hopes for me at the county spelling bee… I went down on my first word. Cotton is not spelled cotten.

Whenever I asked my parents how to spell a word – I was always told to look it up in the dictionary. Fat lot of good it does for all the words with a silent letter like knee, psychology, etc.

Ah…

Ha, ha ! They misspelled dickshunairy.

That’s the problem with dictionaries, you have to know how to spell the word to find it.
