So Corina is the Big Ken Brown of the girl’s softball team? Does she really carry the whole team? I assume she catches her own line drives in practice, too.
Is there some connection between what is described in the narration box in P. 1 and what is actually illustrated in that panel? Because it seems it’s talking about something that happens when CK is catching, but it seems it’s showing something that happens when a Central player is an infielder. Oh, who cares. In the only action that really matters, what’s going on today with that big race for the seat on the library board???
Oh, now I get it. In P.1 the infielder in the blue uniform is from Milford and the base runner in the red uniform is from Central. These two players wear different-colored uniforms from the rest of their squads, because they’re the liberos.
P1, Corina really does do it all. She catches for both teams and doesn’t mind throwing out runners from her own side. As a matter of fact, didn’t she catch for both teams in The Mayor’s exhibition game?
P2, At least mighty Katie didn’t strikeout.
P3, With that launch angle that is no line drive. Corina changed into her special sliding pants just in case.
I for one find the random coloring adds a dimension of excitement not found in other more staid and mundane comics. Trying to figure out who is really talking or what team is on the field is keeping my brain healthy, kinda like working the crossword!
P1: At first, I thought Central was getting a Milford player out, because of the uniform colors, but that didn’t make any sense because of the narration boxes. Then, I thought CK was wearing her catcher’s mask while base running, but that didn’t make any sense because (a) that’s not CK (brown ponytail) and (b) the narration says CK threw someone out, not was thrown out, and then I realized it’s a batting helmet with a face guard. Then, I randomly thought that infielders usually wear baseball caps to keep the sun out of their eyes.
I’ve said this before: This comic strip is like those drawings where you have to identify the several differences between two otherwise identical pictures. I’d say this group is great at identifying the mistakes. That, complaining about every storyline as being lame, and making sarcastic comments and puns is the reason we’re all here.
I can’t add anything new to today’s s@#t show of a strip, as my fellow snarkers have pretty well covered it all. I’m just happy to see more CK and less of Abie Baby.
I haven’t read the comments yet, so I’m probably not saying much new, but…..WHAT THE HELL???!!!!!!!!!!!!! No way she throws out the runner when she didn’t even block the wild pitch. Katy risking broken fingers. And CK changing her pants between innings? Calgon, take me away!
And speaking of taking away, let Mopped Up Thorp take you away from the reality (unreality?) of Gil Thorp.

P1 commentary lagging the action? Uniform dysphoria? CK and fire mentioned in the same sentence, coincidence?
P2 can’t tell what makes Katy look more manly, her facial features or the extra-large cup she is wearing
P3 WHACK, pretty much sums up this story arc

In all reality , P3 Corina has really bulked up, must be the roids she’s been taking .

P1- Jocelyn Brown finally made something happen. Applies the facial to Central base runner.
P2 & P3- With Mimi nowhere in sight, The Rally Hippo provides a dugout spark as the fungo sticks come alive. Subwich party platter for all!

Mimi to Katy: Take it out on Central. Nothing takes out one’s frustrations like bunting

Does Awful Girl™ ever do anything wrong on the field? Or is she so good at softball that Gil will have no choice but put her on the baseball team?

Who taught Katy how to bunt? Good way to break a finger.
