I graduated decades ago and thought I was finished with homework forever. Then I bought a house. ;-)

But seriously, the benefit of homework has been debated for a long time.

my brother knows your pain. He has homework and chores on top of it.

Ah yes, Homework, the good old days. Life was so simple.

The purpose of homework is to help you see that you can accomplish something if you put your mind to it. It prepares you for bigger challenges in life yet to come. Like that famous train, once you ‘know you can’, it’s soon downhill all the way.

Emphasis on the downhill part. The Thornapples peak at birth.

He will get a good foundation and develop skills for a further education and a career. One way to avoid homework is to lengthen the school day so they can complete their work while sitting in classes. I doubt anyone wants that. Plus parental input allows more interaction after school/work.

So…you have a home?

It’s called life and it doesn’t gets easier until it becomes a routine, and even then……

not an adult yet – one who can forego instant gratification for future gain. (I know so few)

A career good enough to pay off your student loans in time to accumulate a massive mortgage – (Just saying)

You go to school everyday and what do you get? Another day older and a lot of D’s…

Ask your dad if you can expect life to get easier when you grow up.

And you have such a terrific role model of a Father.

If you don’t like homework, kid, don’t become a teacher. You’ll spend your evenings doing lesson plans, grading papers and calling parents.

Staying home doing homework keeps you off the streets and hopefully out of trouble.

Just happy you have a home to do it in.
