I believe in life after death. It is a basic tenet of Christianity. Because I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, I know that after my physical body dies, I will still be alive in Heaven.
No one knows anything about “after-death” beyond what happens to the body. Like conjectures about God, we have only the guesses of other humans about reincarnation, though there are some truly alluring scientifically investigated published personal anecdotes. (Still, I believe God is real and reincarnation of some sort may be. That’s my belief .).
Actually, the answer to his question is "who can prove it?’
I see most religious texts as fairy tales and constantly contradicts themselves just a few pages later. The Bible, The Koran, and other such collections of fairy tales do this.

Sorry, no belief of reincarnation for me. Why would I want to come back as — oh, I don’t know — a cicada?

The Great Steering Wheel in the Big Beyond turns only one way Calvin – a continuous life-death cycle ad infinitum. And yes, it has no brakes either.

I like the expression on Hobbes’s face in panel 2. Calvin’s thoughts on life after death are already starting to make him nervous.

Life after death and reincarnation is not the same thing.

My father used to say, “When I die, if I could come back as something, I’d want to be a flower…so that I could be…wait for it…a rein-carnation!”

Noticing Calvin’s head position looking backward in half the frames does NOT bode well for him as a driver when he gets his license.
