My husband and I have this argument often, but because I’m the one usually changing the roll, it goes the way I want it to.

My holder has a shelf beneath it, so logically the first sheet rests on that… UNDER

Over. Otherwise the paper you want is too close to the wall to grab the end.Same with paper towels. Same with engine winches.

But if they turn the same way, one will un roll while the other rolls up. That seems like a great combination.

The patent documents filed for the patent on the toilet paper roll show the paper being used as in the left side of the cartoon. Therefore everyone who opts for the right side is actually wrong.

This is the silliest meme ever. The only time it makes the least bit of difference is when you have a cat. If the paper rolls down from the front, the cat will unroll the whole thing or as much as possible.

all the original patent drawings show the paper coming over the top. This allows for the use of the principle of the lever/fulcrum to help tear of the paper at the perforations. Common sense!
