Before Nate knew it, it was Monday. As he was walking over to the bus stop with Teddy and Francis, Nate got a little nervous about encountering Dee Dee at school. Especially since Nate suspected she might like him, as in LIKE LIKE him. “It’s not a big deal,” Nate thought to himself, “it’s not like you have a crush on her as well. Oh man, today is going to be rough.”

Later, as Mrs. Godfrey yadda yaddaed on about some war from 1812, Nate thought about what he should do about his girl problem. Then, it hit him. “Maybe I can figure it out with the slow dance! Those are kinda romantic, and if Dee Dee accepts, I’ll have some more proof that she likes me.” There was only one problem. Working up the nerve to ask Dee Dee to slow dance. “I mean, I gotta do it because of the bet, but still, asking Dee Dee to slow dance? I’ll never hear the end of it.”

After homeroom, Nate was walking down the halls when he saw something peculiar. Randy and Kim were walking side by side, whispering to each other as they looked at Nate. “Huh, that’s weird.” Nate shrugged it off and continued to think about the problem. Then, he bumped into someone. “Oof!” Nate was sitting on the hallway floor, a little dazed. He quickly snapped out of it and got up. “Sorry, sorry! I wasn’t paying attention!”Nate began to say. Then he noticed who he had bumped into. “Well, this is awkward.” he thought.
