I must be reasonably distinguished….

I think it must be relative. A wizard with a short beard probably wouldn’t be considered much of a wizard, whereas I can’t go out into a refinery with a 3-day growth.

distinguishedness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

Better than being extinguished. :)

The longer the hair, the more likely you are in a reality show about catching Big Foot or duck calls.

Inversely proportional to how much change you can collect on the street.

I thought Gandalf was fairly distinguished…
