Frankly, I’ve never understood why people can’t sit on a 2-hour flight without eating. We’ve always made sure we’ve eaten breakfast or lunch before our flights. But there are things worse than airline food—I once had to sit next to guy eating something he’d brought from home that was so heavy on the garlic it was nauseating. Fortunately the flight wasn’t full so the flight attendant moved my seat. (And yes, I know I’ll probably catch flak from garlic lovers out there.)
I’m sure that’s impossible; the molecules to smell wouldn’t sink to the ground, at least not that fast. But we’re talking about a telepathic guardian angel dog, so all bets are off.
