Here is a reference post so people who choose to read about and discuss the history of Gasoline Alley can put their comments in replies. Those who don’t can bypass the discussion by leaving the replies closed. Fair for everyone, I think.
Joel tries to provide Rufus with the answers to the questions he keeps posing…. but then Rufus keeps interrupting Joel with mean-spirited, and rather snide comments of Joel needing the help of a psychologist/psychiatrist.
Other than finally acquiescing and letting Joel stay the night (which Rufus did very grudgingly), Rufus has been sour, dour, and unkind to our hero, Joel. It is sad.

The best result to this is, we find out as they take Rufus away, that he’s only been imagining Joel all along.
