When I was young I worked as a caddy. The golf club was in walking distance and I’d get there early hoping to get an early loop and possibly a second loop in the afternoon. There was a caddy shack and the caddy master ran a little concession stand where you could buy coffee, soda, snacks, buttered rolls, etc. Well one morning as I was walking to the club I had a big yawn and GULP, a huge fly flew into my mouth and right down the old gullet. As shocked as I was I took solace realizing that I didn’t need to buy breakfast that morning. ;-)
Brood X is really getting tuned up in northeast Tennessee. It’s getting slightly painful to be outside in the afternoons, and we hear the UFO sound easily in a well insulated brick house, even in the basement.
It’s not that unusual around here right now. The drone is constant, all day long. Every time I go indoors, I have to check to see how many of the little monsters are clinging to my clothes.
Considering billions of them, up to a trillion, of the 17 year Brood X are hatching on the Eastern Seaboard right now, Adam is lucky he only swallowed one. Here’s the info on CNN. https://cnn.it/3ie1giM

If you eat a bug first thing in the morning, nothing worse will happen to you all day, to the bug neither…

That takes real skill – cicadas are huge, slow, and really clumsy!

A cicada is an awfully big bug to inhale.

I hope you’re not allergic to shell fish. Things could get ugly if you are.

As a kid, I ate a firefly. Was just riding my bike, yawned, and the bug flew in…deep. Had to swallow, couldn’t cough him out.
BTW, they taste just like they smell.

The cicadas are going wild where I live in Southeast Indiana. Fortunately this week we’re in Colorado and nary a cicada in sight.

Earlier this week it was a large fly that went into the teacher’s mouth in the Big Nate comic.
