surely someone who works at an auto parts store can diagnose a problem with a mower (my first guess is there’s no gas in the tank)

Used to use electric, now battery. Starting is easy. Have an electric snow blower too for light snow, easier than the 15 steps to start gas powered one!!

The puffs of exhaust while he watches in panel 2 suggest it is idling.

Due to very small orifices and tolerances, today’s small engine carburetors get plugged up by ethanol, which is in most gasoline, and which gets gummy. Get no-ethanol gas if you can find it, or use a gas stabilizer if you can’t. The mechanics at our local small engine repair no longer clean the carbs they just install new ones. If you open the gas tank and get a varnish or shellac smell, it isn’t going to run.

If he can’t fix the Lawn Mower, his Car doesn’t have a chance.

mine quit a couple months ago and i wound up changing the oil, spark plug, air filter, and cleaned out the float bow where i found some debris. i always start with the simplest things first. it has run like charm ever since!

Open the fuel line and connect the spark plug wire.
