I tried camping in a wilderness area near where I lived in Santa Barbara. However, around 9 pm on the cold, hard ground, it was just too tempting to drive the twenty minutes home to our waterbed. :)
But what an adventure they had! I have been lost in the woods before. I enjoy backcountry camping (got a trip coming up in fact). But I thankfully have never been lost while camping. So long as I had my day pack I’d like to think I’d be just fine though.
