I have the older version of Scrabble on my tablet. I paid a one-time fee of $10 for the ads-free version. When they came out with the new app, it was by monthly subscription; so the old one is still good enough for me.
Its super easy to just create a files on your computer for an on-line journals. Make a new one each year with the old ones kept in the file. Much better than having to buy a new paper one each year
when I retired I changed my pc’s and tablet to Linux. I was able to create a few aps. one of which was a scheduler that syncs up to my tablet and sends a file to my cell.

If paying a subscription fee means the app won’t be spying on you; it would be worth it.

I still use a paper Day Timer. But since moving up here and into semi-retirement I have changed format from 2 pages per day to 2 pages per week.
