That’s a bit extreme (but funny) however I did have an co-worker once ask me if I’d seen her glasses…she had one pair on top of her head and had another pair hanging from a lanyard around her neck!
Ha! Nice! Every once in a blue moon I come up with a positive side to being stinkin’ nearsighted. Now I have another one! I never have to worry about where my glasses are. If they are not on my face, I don’t get very far. I do wear bifocals now, but I can still see tiny things up close. I just whip off my glasses and hold whatever it is about 2" from my face. I do tiny stuff that way. Several friends who are just normally nearsighted have me do the tiny stuff for them.
There are eyeglasses that allow you to manually focus each lens separately, as required. They look like something a cyberpunk mad scientist would wear but they are useful when you have to focus with your head in unusual positions.
I just literally got my first pair of progressives last week. Hard to get used to. But I am still hesitant to retire my readers. So currently, my purse contains my regular prescription sunglasses, a pair of progressive prescription sunglasses (so I can read the computer technology in my car while I drive), my new regular progressive glasses plus two pairs of readers. That’s FIVE pairs of glasses in my purse. This is ridiculous. But guess what? I have used every pair this week.
