Last Rose of Summer, us too belong to the Walmart program and they put stuff in plastic bags and also nice big and tall clear bags and I use those when I make up my tuna fish, pick out the icky stuff and make up my lunch with the good stuff.
I’ve been trying to give away excess newspaper bags to no avail. We used them for cleaning the litter clumps out of the cat box (no more cat) and when I walk the dog. Hubby prefers larger diameter bags, so there’s no way we’ll ever use up what I collected from my mom and MIL. The plastic shopping bags line our wastepaper baskets and the paper ones line the kitchen trash can’s bag. They have actually outlawed single use plastic bags in our local towns, but I still have a million of ’em.
I have one of those hanging in the laundry room. It’s so full right now that I walked in there this morning and there were bags all over the floor. I think they’re multiplying in there….
When we cleaned out my wife’s parent’s house we found bags and bags full of bags, paper and plastic. Past generations believed in not wasting anything.

For the last year, we’ve bought our groceries online. Now I have about 300 paper bags. Maybe I can paper the bathroom with them……

Plastic bags, paper bags, jars with lids, any kind of paper scrap, rubber bands and safety pins were my Mom’s cling-to.
