Alondra – our senior cat does that as well. We are not sure whether it is us he wants to cuddle or the chair. Possibly us, as we are a warm place to zone out.
My recently deceased wife and I had a Catahoula Leopard Dog who weighed 85 pounds and was raised with chihuahuas and thought he was one too, who always climbed up on my recliner to sit with/on me (he passed away in 2020) just like the chihuahuas always did.

My cat Lily does this. Nothing like asking permission, cats don’t ask they just do!

My cat would lie down on me no matter where I was, even when I was on the floor fixing a sink drain.

It was. My cat waits until I put down a napkin (claws, you know).

Some dogs don’t know they are not lap dogs. Fortunately Ben has a rather ample lap.
