We once had a toy poodle, Gretchen, who was lame in her front legs. At the same time, we also had neighbors who kept Rottweilers. We live in the country and they let their dogs run loose. That’s not a good idea in our area. (There are coyotes who can take out dogs that come around every once in awhile, so it’s responsible to protect your dogs by putting them up and night.) These Rottweilers even rushed me one night. I managed to get into the house before they got to me. One day I had Gretchen outside and the Rottweilers came over making a fuss. Right at the property line Gretchen ran over and stood her ground against them. They ran home. It was something to see this little, lame dog stand up to the big dogs and back them down.

I wouldn’t worry – Rottweilers are big marshmallows anyway – cuddly and affectionate.

Maybe, maybe not; remember, it ain’t the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.
