Hi, tribe!Ladyhawk - I pray that you & your family will have the wisdom needed to deal with your friends!
Don’t worry about my sister and me. At least we have a good truce going - it is just our personalities that I don’t think will ever change. My mom & one of her sisters fought as much or more than we did as kids, yet they got along okay as adults. We’re pretty civil with each other since I was 24. She threw a hissy fit once since then, but I stood my ground, so she knows it won’t work on me. My Mom would complain to me about her sister trying to boss her around, especially after my Dad died, so I don’t have high expectations that my sister will ever quit being bossy. At least now with both of our parents gone and the estate settled, contact is minimized and the less contact, the better we get along with each other.
Hi, Sojo & Grog!
I’ll have to download the pictures I took yesterday, and see how they came out. That is one problem with only having a LCD screen and no viewfinder, it is difficult to see if your picture is okay in the sunlight.
Morning tribe. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. My son handled things well last night, and his mom is looking to get him help today.
Sojo - those are beautiful leaves!!!
Rmom - it’s too bad when siblings have problems, but you are probably right that she won’t really change much at this point. Still hoping that they will just plant the grass for you and it will be over…
Hello Ladyhawk - I’m glad thngs are starting to work out for your friend. Feel free to ask for help any time, were all here together! Thanks for the comment about the leaves. As almost all trees on my block have yellow leaves they really stand out.
Ladyhawk, I am glad to hear things are going well so far. Getting help for your son’s friend is great. This is also a lot for the rest of you to deal with too, it would probably be helpful (and make you feel better) to learn more.
Just when I was thinking I needed to remove the Is Angelic part from my name people quit snickering.
Sir Lew has disappeared again. I hope he was not overcome by his cravings. He might have mugged someone for a cigarette and been arrested. Just because he couldn’t make it to the store.
Luv - You’re right. Thanksgiving seems to be mostly eating too much and watching football. For those of us who aren’t rabid football fans, we need some other fun.
Sojo I know how beautiful your tree is for real. I saw one on Hwy 13 at the end of our subdivision area. I will find out what kind it is just for my own edification if nothing else.
Gone yet again…but will check in later. *:) Ohh, Hi Grog didn’t see you there for a moment.
Hope&joy - Not a bad idea. I’m not sure if it is too late, seems like it is in the fall. Although, I’m kind of hoping if I procrastinate, the cemetery will take care of it. I’m more patient than my sister. I would think the cemetery wouldn’t want the dirt blowing everywhere, and would get it planted. They might have planted some grass this year and whether it blew away or what, just didn’t grow. I really don’t think Mom’s bothered by the lack of grass myself.
If I had any sense I’d be photgraphing the flowers that are on a bush in my landlady’s patio (practically in front of my door). One advantage of living in a subtropical climate.
Stand by. Maybe later this week you will see them.
Thanks, Sojo! I took that in Wichita yesterday. I think the trees are prettier in the city because they are more protected from the wind there. Ours out here in the boonies don’t keep colorful leaves for long, because the wind blows the leaves off quickly after they have changed color.
@Ladyhawk, my prayers are with you and your family–I’ve had to deal with too many suicide aftermaths–one is too many–and seen how they leave the survivors torn apart and wondering if it was something they did, or whether they could have done something, and just endlessly second-guessing everything.
Still, as someone said, it’s good that at least they are talking. And being taken seriously.
Ladyhawk, I don’t actually do much hugging. I have accidently knocked someone down trying to keep them from hugging me. I wish I could give you a hug though.
The advice I gave you from me? That comes from both feeling suicidal and dealing with people who have had suicidal thoughts. I don’t know anyone who died of active suicide, but I I have a lot of experience dealing with depression if you want to talk. (The Powers That Be will probably delete such conversations as too depressing later.)
I have to go out and eat in public with my Gma and Mom. I shall wear all black, my I heart boobies bracelet (hey! it’s for a good cause) and try very hard to be on my best behavior. I think this may call for drugs though.
Thanks Luv. Unfortunately, I have had alot of experience with this as well, the first being a classmate when I was in 6th grade. The biggest thing last night was to keep him talking as long as he wanted to, and watch for signs of progression. My son on the other had (gratefully) has not had experience with this,so it was a bit overwhelming for him. He was very concerned when he brought me his phone to show me the texts. I’m just glad he did.
Luv - I hope your lunch goes well. My lunch yesterday with my siblings went well. Of course, it helped that I picked out the place and even paid for everyone. I decided it was a cheap early Christmas present, and since we haven’t exchanged presents for years, they wouldn’t think they got gypped. So, if my lunch with family went well, yours can too!
@Ladyhawk, yes, that’s all good. As for depressing (and semi-private) discussions, a prior day is always good. Or, for example, the Pibgorn Sketch comments.
And we can delete as we go : ) But I am willing to answer questions because pretty much everyone knows too much anyway and if it helps someone it is worth it.
Ummmm…… while people are praying there will be hot beverages and food items. I am already irritated with them. Anything you think might help would be welcome.
Luv - never had to do this with family, but my favorite way to handle people that really irk me is to “kill them with kindness”. It’s the least expected response and completely throws them off. It worked will with my college roommate, and has worked on many others since.
Thanks, Grog! Sorry the traffic wasn’t good. We’re supposed to get some rain here later this week, I hear.
Bmonk - Isn’t that s word a four-letter word?
Luv - I agree with Ladyhawk that “killing them with kindness” is usually the best strategy. Part of the reason I bought my siblings’ lunches yesterday. Of course, they all didn’t want to tick me off too bad, as I had the checkbook and a gun…. Seriously, if you can be kind without caving in on what’s important, that is the best. I’ve never found a time when being nasty improved a situation, but many times it will make it worse.
Rmom, we are grateful that they spend the time they do together. He’ll help her with the last of the yard work for the year and they make a trip to the Morton Arboretum which is literally a 10 minute drive from one of our houses. Makes for a nice afternoon for the two of them.
Sojo, thank you. This holiday means a lot to me. A day to pay thanks for sure.
♠Lonewolf♠ - I remember a few years ago on Veteran’s Day I thanked my dad for his service in WWII. Their was a long pause and he then said that was the first time anyone had ever thanked him.
I’m not sure if I’ll be up for turnover, I might fall asleep. I have to get up early and will be busy in the morning again. If I’m up I’m up, if not I’m not.
Hello everyone. I have been working hard on two subjects. The service project I had to put in for 5 hours got an F on it. Go figure claims I did not answer the questions well enough. I told them the event was well ran. All volunteers.
For Ladywolf friend son on depression. Strange we had a chapter from class devoted to this sad subject. On a personal level I known of some more on guys who have been in trouble, would get help and treatment, released to go home then actually did the sad thing. The place these boys stay at do receive help. There are agencies the would be delighted to help them to understand what is really wrong.
I am off tomorrow for Veterans day without pay. My hubby who served only 6 months back in the 60’s, he lost his dad to a massive heart attack his older brother did not leave anywhere close to their mom. Was able to leave the service to return to mom.
Little Sister I too have been studing and will be getting ready for a test there will be two in one subject and midterms for another. Waiting for instructor to release the tests that has been done and yes I have to study.
Suppose to be rainy for Thursday.
Glad you are doing so well on pool league. James your son should enjoy his grandma. Our two older adult ones do not with their only surviving grandma sister and my mom. Our mom lives a lot in the past and very tight with money. She is not in the electronic age. Has a hard time with a VCR no computers or cable TV
It 10:15 pm here. Soon I will be turning in. Finish my text chapter then do tests. So far one subject been somewhat fun a lot of learning activites until tests this part I don’t like one hour only. The other 2 hours and that goes fast.
Oh, Luv is Angelic just in case you peek in…your words have so much wisdom many times and I appreciate you and the way you reach out to others in need. It’s a good thing I am not “near” you or I would probably try to give you a hug!!

Hi Kab I was just wondering how you were and how things are going. A rainy day is one good to stay in and study, no doubt.
Hi Lonewolf I LOVE arboretums. A place to let one’s soul grow.
Goodnight now and we shall see what tomorrow brings. Smiles.

Oh, Luv is Angelic just in case you peek in…your words have so much wisdom many times and I appreciate you and the way you reach out to others in need. It’s a good thing I am not “near” you or I would probably try to give you a hug!!
