Loretta Young and Ethel Merman made a movie together once. Loretta insisted on having a swear jar where everyone who cussed had to deposit a dime. Finally, Ethel said, “Loretta, here’s ten dollars. Now go f*** yourself!”

I’ve said this before but it bears repeating that since the population is aging, why don’t the container manufacturers make their wares easier to open? Arthritis you know!

It doesn’t take a jar to make me swear.

And those bullet-proof plastic packages that require tin metal cutters to open. What the heck!

Not just opening the jar but getting out what is in the jar can be a challenge .

I have a huge pair of channel lock pliers. In 20 years, the occasional jar is the only thing I’ve used them on.

Even pop-top cans aren’t easy to open for people with Arthritic hands.

Don’t forget the invisible plastic around the bottle neck, followed by the interior top which cannot be pulled off because the ‘tab’ is too small to grip.

They aren’t made to open! That’s why you have a slot in the top! I have a hand painted piggy bank from the 70s, it’s full and I can’t get it open, that’s why it’s still full!
