I thought I had a colony of moles in the yard, but it turns out they are solitary types, so it’s probably just one really active one. They eat grubs and open the soil, so no problem.
Spray paint a few and see if they turn up at a different entrance.
Never heard about cornmeal.. does that work on small anthills as well or do you need to wait till nuisance size as Gameguy49 suggested a few posts back.
Diatomaceous Earth kills household and garden pests — fleas, ticks, ants, cockroaches, slugs, bed bugs and more — within 48 hours of contact. OMRI Listed for use in organic production. Diatomaceous earth works wonders on larvae, maggots, and grubs; anything that crawls over it.I bought a gallon sized container at Natures fare. The last time there was an ant hill in my yard, after sprinkling a 1/4 cup on it they were all gone in a couple of days

Pour molten metal down the hole. At the very least, you’ll get a groovy statue out of it.

If the anthill is growing to a nuisance size you can sprinkle some corn meal on it. No more ants.

Be careful. Once they get 13 colonies they have a revolution.

In the SF novel “City” by Clifford Simak, ants take over the world after the dogs. Humans are long gone!

Ants are soil builders, distribute seeds from some native plants, control fleas, and help cleanup dead things. Leave them be.

They can be in my yard, no problem as long as they stay out of the house.
