I have 3 cats and a dogs live on both sides of me. I love dogs, too. One, a fairly small dog, was barking her head off at my tortiseshell, Calli, and, of course, Calli, was terrified. She is feisty but is afraid of dogs. The dog just kept barking. Finally, Calli made a move toward the dog so that she could get to the cat window and get inside. Bibi, the dog, gave her a WIDE berth when she saw Calli starting toward her! LOL. That little girl, Calli was ready to take on a big dog, probably about 75# a few years ago, when she was less than a year old. She had a litter of kittens (no comments, pls. She got out. She was spayed when the kittens were 5 wks old.). My friend thoughtlessly brought over her big dog when the kittens were about 2-3 days old. While we were still at the door, here comes this ball of furry fury, from the bedroom, through the laundry area, kitchen, living area to the front door and ready to attack that big dog, who would never have hurt her. Never underestimate the fury of a new mama cat!
