The guys on Hobbes team have to be out because the Tigers suck.

2-man baseball…..are there any rules?

Hard to decide between two 1-man teams.

In Calvinball rules are optional and everything is possible.

Who’s out? No who’s on first.

Bring the teams together!

They’re just playing for the love of the game.

I don’t see them ever doing a triple play.

‘Calvin’ and ‘Hobbes’(playing ‘two-man baseball’ get more action in than MLB in three games (only thing more boring than MLB is golf) ! ! ! ! !

This reminds me of games of soccer I had with my own reflection who was the nearest thing I had to an imaginary friend and was more of an imaginary friend than Hobbes is since Watterson has explained that he didn’t see Hobbes as imaginary and didn’t limit him to Calvin’s imagination.

I called my reflection/imaginary friend “goalie” and kicked the ball to the base of the mirror. My reflection appeared to be kicking the ball back to me. Hobbes, of course, is more complex than this. Too complex for either Calvin or Bill Watterson to fully understand.

Calvin batted so he’s out twice.

After that sequence of play, they are both out… of breath.

Calvin just likes baseball because he gets to spit.

When our daughter was in Little League one of the girls (little Kelly) made an unassisted triple play in less than five seconds. She was playing third base, no outs, when the batter connected and the runners at second and third took off. Kelly caught the fly, tagged third, and ran down the runner from second. The crowd really did go wild!

And who is on first, anyway?

Who cares about teams? They look like they’re having fun. That’s all that should matter.

I was the least player on the least team in the town’s softball league. I mostly sat on the bench and taunted the other team, “We won’t win and you can’t make us!” Once, we had so many on vacation that the coach had to put me in or forfeit the game. So he put me on second where he figured the other guys could cover for me and I wouldn’t do much harm. So I was second baseman, a runner on first and one out. The hit went into right field. The fielder picked up the ball and tossed it to me so I stepped on second and tossed it to the first baseman. Later in the game, the same thing happened. “What?” the coach yelled, “In desperation, I put you on second where you might not screw up and you turn a double play! TWICE!”

Calvinball!

Ironically, I just watched the baseball game episode on DS9 (Take me out to the Holosuite) yesterday. Almost everybody on the station team had no clue as to the rules…

That’s quite the wind-up Hobbes has.

So, do we assume Calvin plays all these games in his mind?

Sigh… baseball is one game not played in this eastern part of the earth. Whatever, going by the flexing postures of both, it demands lot of potential energy converting to kinetic energy.
