Well, we KNEW that the “empathic weapon” trope applied before, but I’ll bet someone’s over at TVTropes as we speak officially adding it to Endtown’s page with the absolute proof that Zero Guns may be able to be reasoned with.
Doesn’t explain anything as to how Flask was able to get hers to work since she did use it to kill un-merged Topsiders, though.
By my count, there are at least 6 comments about the misplaced text. And at least twice that answering them. How many times do commenters NOT read what others have written before them? Sorry for venting, but this just annoys me.
This is interesting because the gun did originally belong to the newly-peafowled Topsider. The gun would have witnessed the mutation. This is different from when Albert picked up someone else’s gun:https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2010/06/22 and that one later turned in Al, Gustine, and the “traitorous transporter” that became Petey: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2010/07/30

I hope the Bird Dude isn’t trying to sell Wally and the others out to the topsiders!

I like the revelation of furniture weight.

Wally, see if you can get the dittos to act as a Zero gun translator.
Mr. E. Bullterrier over 3 years ago
Hmm, this isn’t going anywhere. Right now the most rational thing to do is run to the garage and get a transporter to arbitrate…

I told you guys, try to lobe a tennis ball in front of the monsters, maybe they’ll chase it?

This gun has terrible aim, it can’t even hit its own speech bubble!

Wally’s got quite the tail floof going..!

Bit of slippage there with the text.

Hand the gun to Wally. He might come up with a better argument.

Oh no, that’s not a Smart Weapon. That’s a Too-Smart-For-Its-Own-Good Weapon.

Might wanna fix that last panel, Aaron.

Zero-Gun’s response: “I concede that you actually have a valid argument there.” The text got misplaced, oops.

Lay off on Aaron. The monsters, the deadline, and his (occasional injury or illness) distracted him.

It has a big brother named Bomb 20. You have to argue with it as well…

A sentient weapon……remember a transport agreed to work with Al and Gustine.
Brushfire Wyndragon over 3 years ago
Is it just me, or is there a layering issue going on? I can’t see the gun’s dialog because it’s overlapping the third panel somehow.

Despite his arguments, Bomb #20 will do as it sees fit…

more guns need to be sentient, I’d prefer if they weren’t racist though…

Talk about throwing one’s voice. That device has thrown it so far, it’s misplaced it.

There might not be enough effective dittos to make a big “force bubble,” but maybe there’s enough to reinforce the parts of an existing door?

When Aaron puts this in dead tree form I hope he edits that caption. Future readers won’t have the benefit of these comments to help them read it.
