We really have very little idea of what happened in Britain between 410 CE and 597 CE. The Romans left and later the Catholic Church showed up. What happened between then is nearly a mystery because almost no one could read or write.
If you want an example of just how little we know, oral tradition says there was a massive Saxon invasion of Britain during this period but there’s very little archaeological evidence to back that up. And the DNA is very shaky. So an invasion as important as the Norman Conquest to British history might not have happened.
If you want to be like T. Rex, you can imagine anything you want during the period and it would be hard to argue with. We just don’t know.
