I guess if the store does “no shirt, no shoes, no service”, then they will only get to serve one of half of each girl.

That must be some clean sidewalk because my Mom would have never let me leave the house without shoes.

How do you forget your shoes? Do you forget your underwear? Your glasses? Well, still a cute comic.

Shoe sizes are the same in Canada as the USA. I used to be a shoe salesperson during my high school years. The sizing LOOKS different because Yanks use the “English” system and Canadians use Metric.

Cannot believe Elizabeth ism still a “tenderfoot” in August. When I was a kid, by this time my feet were callused so I could walk barefoot on everything from hot asphalt to sharp rocks.

When I was a kid in the last Millenium we had black cinder streets until I was about 12. You knew you finally had big enough calluses when the cinders stopped killing your feet. They finally started tarring the roads. And this was New Jersey.

Please help. This is a country where churches are burning to the ground and children lack shoes. Just pennies a day and you can make a difference. Support the Save Canada Fund.

I always ditched shoes from spring to fall at that age. It takes a couple of weeks to get used to the heat, gravel, etc – but the rest of the summer I’d be running over anything without a second thought. I miss those days!

Well, this is the perfect opportunity for me to tell on myself. And let me preface this story by saying I really am smarter than this incident might lead you to believe. I am currently recovering from skin graft surgery on my feet after burning them on hot pavement. I was barefoot when the Fed Ex guy left a package, rang the bell, and left. When I opened the door, I saw that the package didn’t belong to me. It was over 100 degrees outside, and I stupidly ran after the guy. I knew the pavement would be hot, but I had no idea the damage it could cause in seconds. I rushed back inside, put cold water on my feet, and saw that they were already blistered and the skin was peeling off them. That was Sunday, surgery was Tuesday, and I seem to be recovering well.

I would never have thought to do that. Then hold hands and hop to the store. Once a friend and I roller skated (the old metal clamp to the shoes with a skate key) to the store to buy a loaf of bread. We tossed it back and forth to each other and pretty much destroyed it. I got a spanking and was sent back to buy another loaf. Bread was 25 cents.
