My friend who I was a caregiver for had his first stroke I tried to “make” him get a button for when he would fall and he refused to do it. Many times I also said make sure you have the phone then, he was stubborn and in the long run it cost him his life. He fell last October and his medical issues along with the “new” broken hip ended up costing him his “good” leg and then his life in January.
Obviously no one in Flo and family has a dog. I don’t remember what it’s like to be able to set down food and not thing twice about if the dog will take it if I leave the room. She’s pretty good if I tell her it’s mine, but I try not to forget that at heart, dogs are wild animals and food is generally fair game to them if not taught otherwise.

Put a couple bottles of wine down there also. You’ll be calling “ I’ve fallen down and I don’t want to get up “
