I’ve posted before about a marvelous riff a friend (former rector) did on Matthew 24:17 – “Let him who is on the house-top not come down”. He turned it into a sermon about “topknot, come down”, and ladies shouldn’t pin up their hair.
I read an article yesterday about some fellow who claims having his fingerprints taken will leave the Mark of the Beast on his hands, and he won’t get into Heaven. People are weird.
Maybe the pastor (?) is smiling because it’s part of the ‘useful spin’, as many do to further their agenda. Whether it’s slavery, suppressing women, the pursuit of wealth…

Some biblical “debates” in some church’s have been over whether or not the church should have stained glass windows.

You can make the Bible say anything.

The only plus of the bible is you can backup both sides of any argument with quotes and have room for a third opinion.
