I like to rent movies from Redbox. Much cheaper than renting an online stream, plus many of the discs have bonus features you won’t get from streaming.
Netflix is vastly overrated to me. Every once in a while we’ll sign up for a month or two, watch all of the shows we want (which usually aren’t many) and then unsubscribe. But, I haven’t done it in a couple of years. I may have to do it again over the winter…..yawn. Or just read a book. :)
For a considerable time, I actually thought the Buggles’ song “Video Killed the Radio Star” was about early television sensations such as Milton Berle effectively ending the careers of radio greats such as Fred Allen. Which seemed like a very strange thing to write a pop song about in 1979.

I don’t think they’re actually dead, I’m pretty sure I saw them twitch.

As it has always been and must be: the new replaces the old because, in some way, it’s better. Doesn’t have to mean the old disappears.

If we ever get through the COVID thing, Netflix might die of neglect.
