The NYT times today documents the precipitous drop in life expectancy in the US, due to a combination of COVID and what they term “deaths of despair”. They argue the latter is due to the growing gap between the wealthy and the poor.
So is this comic starting to become like the beloved and missed “Retail” strip? I only started it from near the end and missed most of it. Nor is it online as a rerun anywhere I’ve seen. Not complaining – having done my time both at wally world and working in a major mall, I understand these strips.

The subjective time rate in old age makes stuff like this go by faster. The downside is that it may be all there is.
