But you probably won’t have to leave a tip if Hobbes eats the waiter.
If you want your kids to obey, play along with their fantasies.
And as usual, Hobbes gets tuna for dinner.
Dad used psychology with Calvin this time.
Mmmm…waiter.
Why not bring Hobbes along? It’ll keep Calvin distracted and out of trouble.;-D
Besides, I don’t think Dad can afford a nice Chianti and some fava beans…
@Sugar Bombs- I was going to say the same thing. It’s cute the way they feed into Calvin’s imagination. But with Calvin, they don’t have any choice sometimes.
Why would they ever bring him to a nice restaurant??
It’s tough taking a tiger with you on a date. Someone always acts up.
Calvin’s smile while thinking of it in panel 3 is great
Is this the break in storyline where Calvin can’t find Hobbes?
Score one point for dad.
“Diets are hardest to keep at restaurants.”
Dad has some really good answers occasionally
It seems like Calvin’s parents are always trying to go to dinner clubs or fancier restaurants. Seem like a rookie parenting mistake to me
Would the maître d’ be an hors d’oeuvre?
Seems like a logical reason! (hi Sambora1!)
My daughter is always late. If we want to be somewhere by 7 we’ll tell her 6.
Smart move Dad, if Hobbes would eat someone, it would be impossible to get reservations there again.
Not only that but most restaurants require a shirt and shoes.
Dad used a little jiu-jitsu on that one.
Occasionally, Dad has good answers.
Nicely played, Calvin’s Dad!
More realistic, Dad, is that as soon as Hobbes smelled any kind of fish in the kitchen, he would be in there causing trouble and stealing food.
The very idea of Hobbes eating someone- really Dad, try to be realistic here. Hobbes should be insulted by the idea!
A side order of tuna would keep this charming feline preoccupied in the restaurant.
