It has been a rainy and unusually cool June and July this year in the whole of the Southeast. Looks like the weather has finally worked its way into the strip.
This is one of those “made for tv disaster movies” where everyone hangs out at the town cafe/bar and all be caught in the disaster and only a few will survive.
Seems like everyday in the south we have had either a small rain or either a gully washer. I walked out of the grocery store and got 5 feet from the awning and a down pour hit me like someone had thrown a wash tub full of water on me. Soaked, I just kept on heading to the car, thanks to plastic garbage bags, my car seat was not soaked from my wet clothes. You pick a day to cut grass, cut it, and within an hour or less here comes the rain. Creedance Clearwater Revival.

Since it started raining, all my wife has done is look sadly through the living room window…
If it gets any worse, I’ll have to let her in

Well that’ll put a damper on Hot Tub plans.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, young lady. Be careful what you wish for. Any other clichés we might use here? ;-)

Umbrellas have three modes: being dragged along ‘just in case’, deflecting a gentle drizzle, and blown inside out/

I don’t remember….where on what coast? Gulf coast? I remember the author used to live in my area on the southeast coast.

Huh, I’m getting the strange feeling the kids want an eject button from their lives.

What is this rainfall of which you speak? We haven’t seen a drop for forty days here in Vancouver!
