And if you buy the best running shoes with the most cushion but you never run. And a stroll of 1.5miles is your daily goal.

I have offered to show a doctor or two a convincing demonstration of how much arthritis pain a person can feel by performing simple tasks and activities, like exercising, kneeling, bending, and stair climbing. However they would not give me a framing hammer.

I still do those things but those few doctors who doubted the pain level have not yet experienced bone and/or joint pain for themselves. Much like a doctor who would doubt the level of pain a migraine sufferer feels. Such doctors specialize in the field of medicine called “I am a doctor without empathy and who is too dumb to believe my patients’ description of their pain level because I am, as clinicians describe it, a doofus” I apologize for the overly complicated technical jargon. Even those doctors I have described find it to be quite far beyond the limits of their comprehension.

When I used to jog, it took me 40 min to go 3 miles and my knees were killing me. I can painlessly walk 3 miles in 45. Way better.

Get up and move. That’s the most important part.

A plugger friend of mine was an avid jogger. When visiting D.C. he went jogging on a route that included Arlington Cemetery. In the cemetery one of two security guards stopped him saying it was disrespectful to jog in the cemetery. The other guard guard said let him go, he’s pretty close to walking anyway.

We have a guy in our neighborhood that jogs like that. He’s lost close to 100 pounds since he started 3 years ago

I think I used to see that guy once in a while. His body position and arm movements said jog, but his feet were not able to keep up.

You’re a plugger when the one time you tried jogging you bunged up your knee and was advised not to jog ever again.

we often see pluggers who are moving at such a snail’s pace on their bike it’s a wonder they don’t topple over…

I had a cat who would jog up to a couple of blocks alongside me. Maybe he just thought he was walking fast.
