And here I thought it was “He who has the gold makes the rules”.

That’s “The golden rule to be applied to every one but me.”

I wonder what the “silver” rule would be?

I prefer the “Treat others the way they want to be treated” variant, myself. We’re not a one size fits all species.

Knows it and practices it are two different things.

Lots of people invite and incite abuse online.

social media has allowed people, who wouldn’t be so brazen other wise when confronting another face to face, to bully / disrespect others.

Numerous times I’ve told myself “no one really wants to read what you think if you are trying to change their mind”. It doesn’t always stop me.
