As I understand it, in the U.S. it is illegal to sell organs. There are those who argue that repealing that law would greatly increase the number of organs available for transplant.

(I’m sure there are many possible objections, but I’ve not heard enough of them to be able to come to a final conclusion.)

There’s the old legend of a hard-partying guy that woke up in a bathtub of ice…and missing a kidney!

Listen, Larry: You might want to start keeping your bedroom door locked at night. I’m just sayin’.

It’s kind of difficult to sell your own organs and live to spend the money. :P

What happened to ‘my body, my choice’?

When I’m done using my body I’m not too picky about whatever is done with it

Don’t know if anything will still be useful, I’m not getting any younger and I can’t say I took great care of myself

China has a record of harvesting organs from dissidents and selling them on the international market.

Lesson for the day, Tobias: Things that help other people seldom have any relationship to “free market economy” – other than an inverse one.

There’s not much a market for his organs.

They made things simpler in France. You are an organ donor unless you are carrying a card that says that you do not want to be one.

It’s better donating than the government deciding they should be taken. I’m also registered as an organ donor.

Organ donation: Ask me first. If I don’t answer then it’s OK.
