I worked at an office that had one of those “portable” computers that was the size of a suitcase with a carry handle. A one-piece thing that opened up to reveal a keyboard and a tiny little screen. It was so heavy that I could hardly lift it. Fortunately I was just a peon and had no occasion to use it. Felt sorry for the guy who had to carry it around to various client offices.
I admit I still have a Sinclair ZX80 but I rarely mention it to anyone. It has personal associations. When I started work at a new company in 1990, they had only one PC shared among five systems engineers. I brought in the Sinclair ZX80, set it up on my desk with a portable TV and made sure the chief engineer saw it. He ordered us individual PCs the next day. :)

So she’s from Padua in northern Italy? Or is she a young padawan?

I wonder if the “paduan” is another term to refer to Star War’s “padme”

I had to explain Dilbert to a couple of newbies the other day. But now he’s been shut down, that’s another cultural thing they’ll miss out on.
