Perhaps we should start taking climate change seriously?

Climate change is just another Chinese hoax, right Stantis?

And if only those stupid Oreganos would rake their forests like The Messiah said, that wouldn’t happen, right?

    I mean, Finland!

The Orange Orifice has his caddy rake the bunkers that he took 12 strokes to get out of, and proclaims “My bunkers never catch fire, so what’s wrong with those liberal governors?”

Might as well pedal to New Zealand next. Look for unguarded coastline.

Governor Newscum cut $150mm from Cal Fire budget in 2020 (about 40% cut – money needed for more progressive causes, I guess) ) and then lied about the progress being made in forest fire prevention – work including removing dead trees (aka raking the forest) and creating fuel breaks. The 3 or 4 republicans in the state legislature have criticized the budget cut and the lying and the media uncovered it. After being exposed and now facing a recall, the recent budget adds significant money to Cal Fire. Poor forest management and incompetence from the Governor, Cal Fire and PUC have more to do with the proliferation of wildfires in recent years than climate change. Better forest management and proper funding and some actual bureaucratic competence would have greatly reduced the size of many of the wildfires.

Climate always changes. We have to adapt, which is what we do best. How much of it is anthropogenic is the question. Then how do we stop it, if it is? Short of a full-blown nuclear war I cannot see any means to stop humans from producing CO2. The less well developed nations will not let us dictate to them from our lofty perch, and the Chinese and Russians are never going to pony up to what they’re really up to.

But then, the same party that told us in 2006 that we’d all be dead by 2016 and NYC underwater has no right to lecture on misinformation.

Since parts of Canada and across northern Europe and Russia on fire moving north may not be a good idea.

“Wildfires are ravaging parts of the Arctic, with areas of Siberia, Alaska, Greenland and Canada engulfed in flames and smoke.”

Oregon is doing fine thank you. Looking at the RAPTOR map it shows progress being made on all major fires. Oregon has a great deal of privately and state owned forest lands that are well managed the Federal lands, well, not so much. We are also the home of the world’s finest wild-lands fire fighters.

Not quite a desert, but eastern Oregon (most of the state) is pretty arid. Pretty, too.

Yeah Carmen, stay away from AntiFa ridden Portland where riots and business burnings are an ongoing thing. Bend is not too bad a place to land.
