I could have sworn that when Elizabeth was shopping for her school clothes, Dawn and Candace were with her shopping for their own school clothes. I did not realize they were only shopping for Elizabeth and decided to do their shopping after school started.
I actually go through that. I see a lot of clothes and some I may even like. But for the ones I want, my size (large) is almost always sold out. The rest of the clothes in the store are worthless to me regardless of how much there is…..either too small, too big and/or too far from what I like.
Note that I am a guy, and have no idea what women go through. I assume from my experiences that men buy “large” more than any other size.
It could be that there’s nothing left in the sense that the only stuff available now is either too big or too small for them. Just kidding, is funny because they vain.
Trivia. Back in 1992 this was originally published in black and white. The colorist they hired in 2021 must be coming down with the flu or something because the colors are drab. Even in panel 3, the girls are colorized but the mall background is still in black and white. By the time you get to panel 4, which should be in a rainbow of colors, you can just imagine the colorist saying, “You know screw it, they don’t pay me enough!”
That’s what happens when you go shopping instead of hunting. Shirts are easy to find, in and out in 5 minutes. That “special” shirt that says you’re you and nobody else even if it is the same as everyone else’s takes a while to find.
They ain’t joking though. One January I needed a new winter coat. Went to all the local stores. Every single one of them had taken out the winter wear and had spring clothes in! Had to go to the farm store to find a winter coat!
I hate it when stores display clothes for the next season too early as in several months early. I know it is all about revenues from original prices before going into sale phase when the season is nearly over. I shop for something i need or want for THIS season, not the next. No wonder people go online where everything is available for any season.

Yeah, Canadian winters can be brutal if not properly dressed for it.

You’re going for the fashionable girls. Try going for the practical instead.

I guess that the only stuff is all “old” people stuff. Nothing “hip” left I guess. (I wonder if hip is still in use as a word for fashion?)

I stand at the open fridge after unloading groceries and hold a similar sentiment: nothing to eat..

You don’t like Candace and yet you still want to hang out with her? Your brain is confused and your whining is pointless.

I’d take a thrift store any time.

Just an excuse to hang out, they can easily state they did look at the clothes.
