In my state speeding over 100 mph got bumped to reckless driving, a misdemeanor.

In truck driving, any speeding violation 15 mph over the limit is a serious violation, and a trucking company will discipline including firing, because the next serious violation a driver will loose his CDL for 60 days or more.

Dad is a big fan of Stephen Pastis.

I was in Germany a few years back but my company got me a Mercedes A class. It took me miles to get it up to 110 (mph) with my foot on the floor.

If Smokey catches you doing 125, you’ll end up paying for your sins and will be now, not later.

125, eh? My dad’s 1970 Chrysler station wagon had a top speed of 117. Or so I’m told. Allegedly.

My wife’s ’99 Miata, on the other hand, had plenty of pedal left to go at 125. With the top down.

I wasn’t speeding but I did burn a little rubber showing off. Unfortunately it was during a beer run for a work party. Spent 9 hours in the Macomb Co holding cell. One blanket, jail scrubs, and only a concrete bench to sit and “sleep” on. One communal open air toilet, sink combo for up to 8 men. That was more then enough for me to avoid jail at all costs. Not to mention all the money grabs. First and last ever.

Could also slide off a curve, collide with another car and be maimed or killed but, sure, worry about a ticket.

Could be worse. Could be The Green Mile.
