The Capps’ holiday going to last all week? It’s like that one Calvin and Hobbes camping trip: rained all week and by the time they plan to leave, the rain stops.
@Number Three today’s strip IS funny , the Capps want to get their money’s worth eve even if it kills them :o) how was your day? our Thuesday should be a little busy but we will cope I hope , no shopping to do or errands to run we both are in a good mood but we are staying in the house because of the continuing heat wave I feel like filling the bathtub with ice cubes and just chill but then Ill miss browsing GoComics :oP keep safe and hydrated and did you manage to donate a pint of your life saving blood ? a 54 year old Maltese woman has donated 60 + pints of special blood like yours and saved the life of hundreds of pre born babies God bless her, thanks for caring young Lady
Look Flo the money would have been better spent down and The Dog and Whistle. A few pints, steak and kidney pie, round of darts, who could say fairer than that.
In the U.K. at the moment it’s quite autumnal. I’m guessing the Capps haven’t gone abroad for their holiday as the weather they’re experiencing is the same as here. Wet and a bit on the cool side. Sadly the USA and Greece are experiencing opposite with those terrible fires so all my hopes to all of you going through it for a safe deliverance.

Once on vacation – at our Florida hotel – it rained pretty much every afternoon around 4. It was great to be in the hotel pool with my family (no lightening) during these rain showers. It got to be where I looked forward to it every day.
Been on GoComics a few years and just now followed Andy Capp. I read Andy Capp as a youngster so nice to see him again. With an archive of original art to boot!
Cheers from the States to our international friends!
Today’s strip reminds me of the first of four camping trips which featured in my favourite comic strip “Calvin and Hobbes”. Bill Watterson seemed to remember something he had disliked about camping trips for each of the four story arcs.
One year we rented a house on the beach at Cape Cod for a month. My wife, kids and I used it the first two weeks and my wife’s brother’s family the next two. We had near perfect weather and they got rain most days. Poor bloke never had much luck from then on.
I’m upset to say that I wasn’t able to donate today. It wasn’t cancelled. The nurse missed the vein. When she put the needle in, no blood came out. They are not allowed to try the other arm any more. To say I’m upset is an understatement. Luckily I am able to book again straight away because no blood went into the bag. Not like over a year ago when the blood flow slowed down and respositioning the needle didn’t work. I had to wait another 4 months to try again after that.
Thank you for asking, pal. Stay safe, stay well, stay cool and stay happy.
We vacationed in the UK a few years ago, London, Edinburgh, and a few small towns in Durham County. Excellent weather, barely a drop of rain. I hope to go back soon.
At least they have umbrellas. One time, I went out for a walk and left my umbrella at home, as it seemed to be a nice, sunny day. I was almost to the end of the road when I felt a drop of rain. Thankfully, I managed to make it back to my house before before it started coming down.

It’s actually quite beautiful swimming in the rain. As long as there is no lightning.
