@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny our HERO Mr Andrew Capp is being sarcastic with Flo when she compares a holiday in the Carebean or the med to Brit’s incessant rain, he’s right whenever I visited my late sister Mary in Aberdeen it rained daily :o) how was your day? our Manic Monday should be busy as usual but we should cope I hope in spite of the infernal heat wave , no shopping to do or errands to run we both are in a good mood and my fav second cousin Tonio Grech is very much alive and his son registered him on Facebook , we are staying indoors drinking chilled bottled water till this evening when the green grocer van comes up our street ,keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady
Wouldn’t mind a week of rain here on the US West coast. It might clean up all the smoke from the forest fires that we have around here. (I live in Oregon).
1. I’m not sure it’s Roger Mahoney who is still doing the artwork but I love the bulletin board with the six notices in the middle panel. Six notices, all with a slightly different visual look, perfectly arrayed on the board.
2. My sister and I both lived in England for part of our lives and her son always said that the difference between England’s summer and winter weather was…..the rain was warmer in the summer.
If you step out for a wee bit Andy, you can feel the similarities, too! The Beatles already had a few things to say about the rain…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK5G8fPmWeA
I don’t know why Andy is complaining about their holiday location. All that interests him is finding a pub that doesn’t know him. At least in England he could find an ale that he is familiar with.
Thanks once again yet again for the classics, Eldo! I seem to recall one where Andy is at home on the couch and Flo is wondering why he wasn’t off to the pub. “IAre yer daft? It’s pourin’ rain!” “Oh, well, that’s good anyway because me mum is comin’ over to visit.” The last panel has Andy biking off to the pub in a monsoon…….By the way, how many years has it been since we’ve seen Andy on his faithful bike? Did anybody besides Reg himself ever picture that?
Flo and Andy are under constant threat from bill collectors and people coming to repossess their couch. They sure aren’t going on some expensive vacation!
I am also drinking lots of water (again) as I’m going to attempt to give blood tomorrow. My 27th July appointment was cancelled. Please pray for me it goes ahead this time. My appointment is 4:50pm. So at 5:50pm your time, I will be (hopefully) in the process of saving a few lives.
I am at the carvery again on the 18th so naturally I’m looking forward to that. We are now able to serve ourselves again. What I didn’t like was not being able to get our own drinks at the refilling machine. Bloody COVID. It won’t be long before I get my second vaccine either. I’m guessing it will be around 19th August. I have to wait to be contacted.

Stay safe, stay well, stay cool and stay happy, pal.

All the more reason to hang out at a pub, which he probably would have anyway.

Today’s old joke: “If you eat soup in the rain, how can you tell when you’ve finished?”

I was in York in 2015.
It constantly rained while we were there. It was lovely to get back to the hotel and dry off. The hotel was in Leeds. We were on a coach trip.
