In 2018, my then 5 month old puppy got some cactus needles in his nose. I pulled them out, but when I saw the hurt look on his face I knew any future incidents, be they cactus or porcupines, would be removed by the veterinarian. He forgave me for hurting him, but I’ve not forgiven myself.
