Being an author, I’m told, is at least partly the ability to distinguish good ideas from bad. But, I’m also told, the main requirement is to write. A lot. Even when your muse has been on an extended vacation. Even if the only things you’re writing are bad.

I wrote a paper for history about how I conquered the Martians. I got an F.

even Calvin got his fair share of F’d stories as school assignments (except for that time-travelling one Hobbes wrote when he and Calvin planned to get the finished assignment in the future on which Calvin got an A)

Ah the joys of retirement! Time to do what you want – IF you still can.

Tis the nice thing about paper and pen ……If you don’t like it you get to crush it ! So much more fun then hitting the delete key ;-)

I am firmly convinced that many times we are our own worst critics and by extension, our own worst enemies.

This is especially true of creative persons. Often, something we’ve consigned to the mental trash heap was actually, really good, while something we consider to be a work of genius is in reality rubbish!

Write on!

Some would perhaps like the bad ideas. Perhaps the bad ideas will work.

I’m not sure retired exactly maps to “out of business”. To me at least one implies a choice and the other doesn’t.
