I used to think the same way – until someone pointed out to me, that on an hourly basis they were losing about as much as watching movies in a theater cost, or how much a decent theater ticket cost, and he pointed out that he liked playing cards, and the drinks were cheap and he was there often enough that he was friendly with the dealers and had other players that he was friends with. Changed my view. Now it isn’t just that I don’t have the money for that – I don’t have the time either!

why even go in there in the first place? how could anyone get any pleasure from losing their money at the Casino?
