I made a MESS in shop class.

Obviously it’s a thing that reflects a great and fine creation by someone in shop class!

It is a talking point.

It’s a thingamabob or a doohickey…

I’ve heard the best way to respond to a kid’s creation is to say “Tell me about it”.

I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will." ♪♫

I don’t remember the title, but there is a short story about a guy who makes a large complex machine that does … nothing. However, all sorts of people think it must do something so there is all sorts of escalation around that. Of course when asked he says something like, “it just runs” which people interpret as him hiding something.

I still have (and use) a nice inlaid foot stool and a set of bookends I made in shop in the 50’s

It’s a paper weight and a conversation piece…

It’s fine art. Probably worth millions to the right buyer.
