Good thing is that you were wearing helmets…bad thing is that they’re probably going to make you pay for the shattered door/wall…

The problem with nostalgia is that it is the only remnant of something that is out of date.

Unfortunately, baseball is on life support, and it is only a question of how long before the plug is pulled.

Leather helmets? I think that’s kinda dangerous. Helmets are made out of solid material to keep our skulls from getting crushed.

Maybe a leather helmet game with 180 pound linemen.

My grandfather played Nebraska college football in 1910 with leather helmets and heavy wool sweaters before pads were developed.

Great. Now every team’s going to have to have a game there. Or they’ll try to build replicas parks around the country. And then it will be like the NHL outdoor game no longer original.

Some folks might worry about TBI in this circumstance but, since they’re marketing types, there is nothing to injure.

Throwing out the “throwback,” eh?

Actually, leather helmets probably would mitigate head injuries because players would no longer use the helmet as a weapon.

If nostalgia’s what you want, let’s start with eliminating modern helmets and go on to eliminate modern steroids, recombinant human growth hormone, insulin, etc. – eliminate everything modern from the sport?

And for hockey you could really go retro and have the Seattle Metropolitans play the Edmonton Swastikas.
