Those battery powered cars for tots have always puzzled me. What the heck are parents thinking. They just finished helping their child learn how to walk and now, that? Geez…
Didn’t go unnoticed (by me, anyway) that the boy is in the motorized car while the girl is riding the bicycle – without training wheels. I think that says something, but don’t want to speculate on what…
Another example of “anything I wouldn’t do/approve is wrong”.
Two kids across the street have e-cars but can also bike circles around the other neighbor kids. It’s a contrived scene to try and make a point … again.
These kids have got actual expensive physical toys? “When I was growing up, we were so poor that, if I hadn’t been born a boy, I wouldn’t have had anything to play with.” —Rodney Dangerfield, American comedian
I was riding a two wheeler before I was 5 and still was always picked last in gym. Bad eyesight and poor hand to eye coordination combined with timidity towards spherical objects heading in your general direction will do that to a kid.

Evolution is a little slower than that. But yeah. See also Kornbluth’s Marching Morons.

Teams, especially in elementary schools, were picked based on popularity. Unless the teacher made the teams.

In high school I was not popular at all but when it came to picking players for the soccer teams, I was always picked first.
Reason being that I found it simple to wade through the opposition and score a goal very easily.
That’s why I was fouled constantly.
I eventually got tired of it and didn’t bother with soccer any more.

When I was young we had pedal cars, They seemed like a fun thing at th e time but once we transitioned to bicycles, we never looked back.

Kids picking teams has always been stratified. First the older, stronger or more talented then the younger, weaker, less talented.
