Well, his name, after all, is McLean . .

I’ve never understood people’s obsession with not growing older. My mother (who, I might add, colored her hair regularly; I’ve never even seen her natural hair color) used to say, “Wear your age like a badge of honor, because every year you have is a year you’ve earned.” Granted, people always tell me that I don’t look my age anyway, but I don’t go out of my way about it. Heck, my husband & daughters LIKE the silver in my hair.

She must not be fuming mad b/c she didn’t use his middle name, also.

Yay! Back to normal. I hadn’t realized Red’s real name before. Russell kind of fits him. And then there’s Rover McLean!

Does anyone know if Red has a middle name and what it is?

As kids, we knew we were in real trouble if mom used all three of our names: First, Middle, & Last (or even just the first and middle names)

His name is Russell?!?!

And he didn’t have to play kick-the-can.

Eleven weeks ago Red was looking forward to his summer vacation, and now it’s pretty much over. I remember being on summer vacation after first grade, I didn’t bother with the calendar or dates or anything, I lived every day like that was the way life was now. And the summer did seem to last forever.

So his name is Russell. I never knew that. Now he’s a kid again.

Wish I could remain a kid.
