Practically the only network TV show I watch is “Svengoolie”. All my other entertainment comes from streaming services. They deliver content when I want and without commercials !
When I watch Jeopardy! and there is bad weather in the neighborhood the local news station will break into the show itself to report about it, but during commercials they don’t. I can never understand that.
Commercial on TV, Ads on the internet, ads fill what’s left of newspapers. WHAT I DON"T UNDERSTAND:If you can afford it, you can pay extra, to NOT see ads. If you can’t afford it, you get tons of ads for stuff you can not afford to buy.
The purpose of television is not to entertain – it is to get you to “buy”.
The “programming” is only there to get you to pay attention to the commercials – most people mistakenly believe that television is there to “entertain” you – it’s not – it’s there to sell you stuff – the “entertainment” is there ONLY to hold your attention between commercials.

Programs don’t have sponsors anymore. You will see all the commercials whatever you watch.

Yeah. I’d kind of rather see technical difficulties than commercial breaks being as long as they are these days.

The commercial breaks are so long now, you have enough time to go to the bathroom and not miss anything.

Some channels on TV PLUS put up a blank screen if they don’t have an advertiser. 3 minutes of dead air will have you begging for a commercial.
